Every package we deliver also carries hope.

July Report Since embarking on our initiative to donate ten yen for every package we deliver to help restore local infrastructure, fishing, and agriculture in the areas affected by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, the total number of parcels we've handled has reached 461,610,845 (143,326,972 parcels in July alone). The funds raised now total ¥4,616,108,450 ($59.62 million as of July 31). We are very grateful to all of you who have used our delivery service.

As reported last month, the funds we've raised have been entrusted to the Yamato Welfare Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation. All the funds that have been raised will be used to support programs and projects in the affected areas through the Foundation's ''East Japan Great Earthquake Life, Industry Infrastructure Recovery, and Rebuilding Relief Fund.'' On July 1, Yamato Welfare Foundation began accepting donations and applications for project funding through its Website home page. The home page will also be the location for information about how the funds will be used, as reported by the Yamato Welfare Foundation. August 4, 2011
